Mental health matters to all of us. But we don’t give it enough space.
In this exhibition photographed by Richard Young for mind out for mental health, people in the music business speak out about their experience of mental health. How it has affected them, and how they take care of themselves, their family and friends.
Each year, one in four people will experience a mental health problem. So someone you know is probably going through some kind of mental distress. But you may not know that anything is wrong. Because they’re too afraid to talk about it, or get help.
It doesn’t have to be like this. Each of us can play a part in changing
attitudes to mental health – and changing the lives of people with mental health problems. All we need to do is to speak openly about the issues, and accept mental health as a normal – and important – part of life.
