The exhibition

In this exhibition photographed by Richard Young for mind out for mental health, people in the music business speak out about their experience of mental health. How it has affected them, and how they take care of themselves, their family and friends.

The exhibition features Sting, Liberty X, Mis-teeq, Romeo, Daniel Bedingfield, Big Brovaz and Emma B. Daniel Bedingfield speaks out about a friend who used to self-harm, Sting talks about his dark days with The Police, and Romeo explains how music provides a release for him.

The photographer

The headSPACE photographs have been taken by celebrated photographer Richard Young. Richard Young began taking photos of the stars when he worked at Jimi Hendrix's studio in New York. On his return to London he sold his first picture to Fleet Street and his career began. He is now the UK's leading show business photographer. He has worked with most major magazines in the world, including Vanity Fair on the Oscar Night party and Tribeca Film Festival.

Young says, "Mental health is something that we all have and something we all need to look after - but different people do it in different ways. Headspace is a snapshot of celebrities relaxing, be it backstage, off-duty or at home. The people who took part in this exhibition were open and honest. Their stories show how mental health is an issue that affects all of us."
