To maximise the impact of the mind out for mental health campaign, we have been working closely with partners from the very beginning.

Some of our partners are organisations working on issues of mental health who are also fighting hard to combat discrimination.  Others have joined the partnership because they recognise the importance of the issues for the people they represent.

We recognise that changing people's mindsets on mental health is no easy task. Stopping stigma and discrimination and changing people's behaviour on any issue takes years of sustained hard work. People from every field need to become actively involved and take the work forward in their own field.

Changing Minds logo

Changing Minds – Every Family in the Land is a five-year national campaign, co-ordinated by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Launched in October 1998, it aims to increase public and professional understanding of mental health problems and reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with them. The Campaign is focusing on six of the most common mental health problems: anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, dementia, alcohol and drug addiction, and eating disorders.

The Royal College of Psychiatrists is the professional and educational body for psychiatrists in the UK and Ireland.
